23 YEARS OF C23… Wait, that can’t be right?
No it isn’t… In a fit of decennial celebration we’ve brought together 23 artists of varying styles - from experimental ambience and IDM glitchyness to the harshest of noise, from C23 resident artists to friends from across the globe - to mark 10 years of Catch23 Recordings (the only number involved in this release that isn’t 23). It's something of a relief to be able to announce a new release from Brokecore John (aka Evil Robot Ted, Neon Death). 'Next Heaven', a full-lengther from his cool side-project SYNESTHETIC BURST is available for download now. A quick fix for all you noise junkies out there. Lovely noise as we've come to expect. Additionally, as myspace bulletins didn't seem to be working last week, we have a quirky record from Texan duo MACHINE MADE, which ranges from dubby strangeness to idiosyncratic noise. It's
been a busy week or so here at c23 HQ… We've got
a lot of new audio for your downloading pleasure. Evil
Robot Ted's 'Stuff from Other Stuff', a compilation of
hard to find tracks from splits and compilations; Zebra
Mu's 'Childhood Destroyer', an EP of sublime circuit-bent
harsh noise; a very nice record from The Free Noise Foundation
(a side-project from Ramon Mills of Production Unit Xero),
and a great split record from Daniel Clough and Jarrod
Rone… a mixture of field recordings, electroacoustics,
and deep bassy droning. Check this stuff out! It's all
bloody good!

DRINK
IN THAT STRONG FISHY AROMA...!
Anyone
who knows anything about the UK noise scene knows about
SMELL & QUIM. Back in 2000 we were pleased to be able
to offer 'DEEP GREEK', a special limited (100 copies)
release CDR collaboration between the West Yorkshire reprobates
and the now defunct audio artists Dachise. Well we were
chuffed beyond words earlier today when we received permission
to re-release this classic from our archive as a free
download, like the rest of our back catalogue. Huge fucking
thanks to DW for allowing us to re-release this record
on the interweb.

it's all celebrations here at C23 as our long in gestation,
new look, fully expanded website finally went live today!
This also marks the completion of our project to make
our entire ten year back catalogue available for full
free download (apart from the Smell & Quim and Dogliveroil
releases upon which we are still awaiting the artists
approval).
To coincide with this auspicious occasion we are also
pleased to present 2 brand new recordings from John Marra's
excellent EVIL ROBOT TED project ('Dragon Dagger' &
'Fading Roses, This Garden's Over' EP). Check out the

After
an unnecessarily protracted delay c23 resident artists
Schadenfreude's latest release, 'The Pudding Crime: Monsters
from the ID(iot)' finally became available to download
today.
Hot
on the heels of this delayed release SCHADENFREUDE have
announced that they hope to have their latest recording
'Superstars of Noise' available for release on the 8th
of October 2007 to coincide with the one year anniversary
of their triumphant / disastrous gig at TJ's Worcester.
