Catch23
Recordings was founded in late 1997, primarily as a platform
for the release of work by a small group of 'artists'
from the Worcestershire / Gloucestershire area of the
UK. For a while we burned very limited numbers of CDRs
with 'high quality' packaging. The project has never been
about revenue, which was a good job because it cost us
more to produce these releases than we ever got back from
sales! Whilst the majority of our releases have concentrated
on the aforementioned local experimentalists, in 2000
we were privileged to release material by Dogliveroil
and Smell & Quim (again, in very limited numbers).
Continuing
financial constraint, coupled with the growth and affordability
of broadband internet connections, has led us to shut
down the hard-copy side of the label, and continue as
a netlabel, with free downloads of the back catalogue
and all new recordings.
